When your air conditioner isn’t working right, it’s easy to hope the problem goes away. But waiting too long can cost you way more money—and leave you sweating in the heat.
If you notice any of the signs below, it’s time to call an HVAC service like AARD Mechanical before things get worse.
1. Strange Noises
Is your AC making a weird noise it didn’t before?
Even a small sound—like rattling, buzzing, or clicking—can mean something is wrong. It might be a loose part, a motor problem, or something more serious. Don’t wait. That tiny noise can turn into a big, expensive repair if you ignore it.
2. Warm Air Instead of Cool
When your AC blows warm air, that’s a red flag.
You might think it’ll fix itself—but it won’t. Running it while it’s not working right can cause more damage. And worse, your home stays hot and uncomfortable. Call an AC service technician to check it out and fix the problem fast.
3. Cool But Sticky Air
Is your home cool but still feels sticky or humid? That’s not normal.
Your air conditioner is supposed to remove moisture from the air. If it doesn’t, your AC may be having trouble with airflow, the thermostat, or something inside the unit. A professional can find the problem and get your home feeling fresh and dry again.
4. Weak Airflow
Weak airflow usually means your AC isn’t doing its job.
It could be something simple, like a dirty air filter, or something more serious—like a clog in the ducts or a failing fan. Either way, poor airflow means your system is working harder than it should, which can raise your energy bills and wear out your unit faster.
5. Water Leaks
Your AC might produce a little condensation, but if you see water leaking, that’s a problem.
Leaks can lead to water damage, mold, and other costly repairs. Don’t wait. Call an HVAC tech to fix the issue before it causes more trouble in your home.
